The Avaya softphone, one-X Communicator software is useful but has a huge security hole. If you have an Avaya VoIP phone in office, please email ITS consult@usc.edu and copy Deborah Hazzard-Bowers hazzard@usc.edu to specify a custom passcode (a 6-digit number) for your 5-digit office phone extension. Please take note that this 6-digit custom passcode is meant for use with the Avaya one-X
To test your USC VPN connection: You must be on an external network, such as your home WiFi or a hotspot. VPN cannot be tested from the USC wired or wireless network. If you need help setting up your VPN, contact ITS Customer Support Center. You must use VPN to access internal USC systems handling confidential or sensitive data, such as Student Information Systems (SIS) and file servers for specific schools and departments.
